The photo, taken on Thursday November 2nd, shows Paul Nash, an enthusiastic member of the hub, handing over a cheque for £1000 to Jennifer Todd of Prostate Cancer UK on behalf of Play2Support Ltd. In fact the Senior Pairs competition raised £1040 but £1000 looked better on the cheque! This is just one of many activities undertaken by members of the hub, which also include an annual casino night at the Grosvenor Casino, Newcastle, information stands at the Metrocentre and other similar locations and talks for staff at local companies such as Warburton’s, Arriva and Rolls Royce. The members are justly proud of the contribution they make to fund and awareness raising for this important national charity. So much so they are hosting an afternoon event to showcase their work and hopefully recruit new members to be held at the Station Hotel on Thursday February 8th from 3:00 to 6:00pm.
