Golf continues...support Prostate Cancer UK in 2024
Our Mission
Play2Support is committed to raising awareness and funds through golfing events and other activities in order to support the work of Prostate Cancer UK in improving the diagnosis and treatment of the disease
As a prostate cancer survivor I know how important it is that Prostate Cancer UK is able to continue to fund research, such as that being carried out in our region at the Centre for Life and the Newcastle University Centre for Cancer. Help raise money to support this vital work:

Prostate Cancer UK Championship 2023
The charity holds three regional tournaments as a reward to golf clubs and their members for fund and awareness raising throughout the year. For the last 5 years Paul Nash of Play2Support has been invited to take part. This year the one for the North and Scotland was held at Shipley Golf Club, nr. Bingley, West Yorkshire, on Friday 7th September. The format is simple; a shotgun start for 18 teams of 4 with the best two individual scores on each hole counting. Some of the fours were friends from the same club whilst others were made up of pairs/individuals put together at random by the organisers. This year Paul Nash with his playing partner Gilbert Scott, also from Stocksfield GC were paired with David Easton and Ian Fennel from Uphall GC, West Lothian. And what a team it proved to be...ending up amassing an amazing 100pts and winning the competition.

Golf is a great fit for Prostate Cancer UK but sadly this disease is not out of bounds. One in eight men in the UK will be affected by prostate cancer in their lifetime, but by taking part in Play2Support’s Golf Competition you and your fellow golfers can help us fight back. Ignoring prostate cancer will not beat it, and we want to raise awareness and fund ground-breaking research to help fight the disease. The money raised will help us provide dedicated support and information to men and their loved ones.
